'Variations on a Theme of Modules'
Media: ½ inch tiles in various colors and finishes
  Year: 2000
  Conservation Status: In excellent condition
Notes: This mural is made of about 15,000 square feet of ceramic tile in the Sandy Springs station. Embedded in the walls of the underground station, the geometric tesserae create artistic columns upon the station's structural columns. Mitchell’s artwork often makes use of an architectural vocabulary to explore psychological space, depicting vaults, stairs, and ziggurats in her paintings and drawings.
